The new arrival “Spotted Great Dane” puppy

I am not much of a pet lover but its always good to have a Dog in every home particularly in India, especially in Tamil Nadu there are several thefts taking place and having a hunter family dogs, those ones will be sure helpful. We had previously a labor dog, which now got older, and within few days its going to blue cross, because its really hard to see your pet die after aging. First when my dad brought this one to our home, I was eager to see it cos I’ve heard that “Great Dane” breads can grow to the length of a human, 6ft and even above. But after seeing the dog I was totally disappointed, it was really small and the color was crappy. Of course pups will be small when they are young, but the color pattern appeared to be really wicked and more of a stray dog. So seeing its appearance and funny look I named it as “Scrubby”. Yeah its very active, and growing fast, but its hard to manage a pup. Also now our old lab is to leave, and its name is “Slash” this is the picture of Slash, the black Lab dog.

hello Vijay...I was just googling Ssn and happened to come across your post.I'm glad to hear that you've given your dog to a friend but let me tell you about dogs...they treat you as family and trust you so completely like small loving children...so they would much rather die in their owner's arms than anywhere else...also most dogs die of a heartbreak much sooner than their lifespan.Dogs have psychologies as complex as humans. My mother's friend's dog came and put his head on her lap and breathed his last after a bout of vomitting. I too have a dog and he's very attached to my parents...just like a baby...so my sincere request to you is that please don't repeat it with your new pup.I see you care and hope that you will understand my plea.
I hope you will not consider it an intrusion.

@Harshita,
Thanks for ur concern,. but yeah i know dogs are like a person in ur family. And it is really hard to see someone die in ur family. Thats the reason we gave it away. I am not a Dog person, but my mom and sister are crazy abt Slash, and if something bad happens, they both will feel very bad. I didnt want that to happen. Anyway, Thanks for the advice.
Slash died a couple of months ago. And i couldn't even imagine what my mom's and sis's reaction would be if it would have happened in our place.

Sorry to hear that.
I understand, but I'm sure that if you were to die someday...would you take a plane ticket to America and expire there just because it would pain your mother and sister to see you die? Try not to make choices and decisions for other people...let them make their choice.Death is natural and inevitable ... we must all come to terms with it sometime or other. I'm sure your family would have been relieved to see him go a happy and content dog,in front of their eyes. I apologize for being a little too nosy in this matter and sounding like the all-knowing granny but let me tell you...women are much stronger than men emotionally, so do reflect on this last thought.
